Idle Game
Game
Idle Game is an ad-free idle game in the browser with RuneScape-like skills. Its skills level to 99 and feed each other: logs go to Firemaking or Fletching, ore to Smithing and fish to Cooking, and what you make goes to combat in three styles, where enemies drop recipes. Every tree, rock, fishing spot and recipe also has its own mastery to 99. While you work, a panel says what you would have if you left it for 20 minutes.
The game keeps going while the page is closed, for up to a day, and shows what happened when you come back. Beside the skills are four engines that run on their own: the Trader's caravans on the road, an estate whose rooms and servants work for you, the Inventor's workshop and its machines, and the observatory's turning sky. Farming patches grow alongside whatever else you are doing, and a plan queues four steps ahead. Prestige starts every skill again and keeps a multiplier.
It saves in your browser, and Settings exports and imports the save as a file. There are no ads, accounts, servers or analytics. For playtesting, Flag marks a moment with a note, and Settings makes one file holding the save, a log of what happened and the flags, to send on.
It is a Builder project: every rule of the game is in a Rust core that does no input or output, a WebAssembly shim passes values to the page, and the page draws what the core describes.
Playing it
Pick a skill from the list, then press the action on what you want to work: Chop tree, for example. Each action repeats on its own until you stop it or switch. Open the engines, the bank, the shop, the plan and prestige from the same list; on a phone they sit in five groups along the bottom. The fullscreen button works where the browser allows it, and on an iPhone, Add to Home Screen gives a full-screen game.
Checked in Chromium, Firefox and WebKit.
