Food Truck Circus

Game

Food Truck Circus is a third-person 3D game that runs in a browser. You are a performer in a circus played on and around a food truck, and each show is a trick or a run of tricks. It is a fan game after Cirque Kikasse's SANTÉ!, made for the show's Durham run in October 2026, and it uses nothing of theirs but the idea.

The tour has twenty-six shows at twenty-one real venues from the company's 2025–26 schedule, starting at the RTP 800 Building in Durham and ending in Port Angeles, Washington. The map lays the shows out by what each needs first. Most are on the trampoline beside the truck: pushing the trampoline to go higher, seat drops and back drops, then back tucks, baranis, full twists and double backs, named in trampoline terms and graded on the landing. The others stack chairs into a tower on the truck's roof, juggle, catch popcorn from an overflowing machine, and swing on a trapeze, which is the game's own addition. The crowd shouts the grade, and twelve costumes are earned along the way.

The performer's body is particles joined by sticks. While you are in control, a flight model places them: a centre of mass, a flip and a twist, and the angular momentum behind each, with the inertia read off the body's shape, so pulling into a tuck spins you faster without any other rule saying so. A bad landing hands the same particles to the physics solver and the performer tumbles. Every rule runs in integer fixed-point maths in a Rust core compiled to WebAssembly, and the page only draws what the core returns.

The Circus Math Lab

A companion page holds three math-circle toys, written after Natural Math's way into mathematics: play first, functions as machines before formulas, and gentle calculus. In the first, you draw or type a function and the performer plots it on the trampoline, the top of each bounce marking one point, somersaulting on the way; a behaviour tree chooses how long to push and lean by imagining bounces and interpolating between two that bracket the target, and the marks are joined into the performer's version of the function, drawn beside the original with the error stated. In the second, the performer jumps off a ledge and drops a column of popcorn in every strip of ground: each arc of the flight is a parabola whose equation the lab writes, and the piles are a Riemann sum to compare with the area under the flight. In the third, juggling patterns are written as numbers, and the lab checks whether one can be juggled and how many balls it needs.

Playing it

Hold Space to push the trampoline as it throws you up. Hold S or W during the push for a back or front flip, A or D to twist, J to tuck and K to pike. The arrow keys travel toward the truck and turn, dragging the mouse looks around, R starts a show again and Esc pauses. Your tour is kept in the browser you played in. A button switches the game and its labs into French.
